Dog Years
Cara Schultz & Ange Friera

A run-of-the-mill drive to college turns into a madcap journey across the country when loner teen Randy rescues (steals) a showdog, Jason, and picks up an enigmatic hitchhiker named Pearl. With only a few hundred bucks, her grandfather's old car, and a budding crush, will Randy get them to their destinations in one piece, or will their differences drive them off course? A love letter to screwball comedies and lesbian road trip romances, Dog Years is about finding yourself, finding love, committing crimes, and growing up.Ages 13 + • LGBTQ+, adventure, coming of age, romance • 300 page estimate5th place winner of KCU Pitchfest 2026View the full pitch packet here!
